How does music help in reading?

Very simply put, a line set to tune is remembered better by a child than one in prose. Given our enormous musical heritage, this is demonstrated extensively in the average Indian household. Science bolsters this insight with its studies about the relationship between language learning and music. Songs have the qualities of musicality, tone, rhythm, vocalization. That is to say that music memory will allow your child to understand structures and patterns in language, enough that your child can predict sequences while reading. "Music memory" is a form of latent memory. It reaches beyond the scope of just memorizing independent words and focuses instead on understanding different types of linguistic expression.
The stories in Zoomer not only take after the Indian storytelling traditions where narrative is interspersed with songs but have engaging reading activities based on sound-word associations in music and karaoke.
